Fisheries Specialist Consultant

In this position, you will be the Fisheries Specialist Consultant for an innovative project that seeks to obtain MSC certification for specific fisheries.

You will have the opportunity to:
- Develop a national strategy in line with ICCAT standards.
- Work with stakeholders in the fishing sector to improve their practices.
- Participate in a team of experts and manage the project budget.
- Contribute to the sustainable development of fisheries.

Requirements:
Experience:
- Fisheries expert with at least 10 years of experience.
- At least 5 years of work experience in conducting statistical surveys.
- At least 10 years of work experience in policy development.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with ICCAT member states.
- Previous experience leading the implementation of projects funded by international development organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, economic, social science or statistical discipline.

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
- Extensive experience and knowledge in data collection, research and electronic data compilation tools.
- Demonstrated track record in blue economy and experience in research methods.
- Solid understanding of data collection concepts and electronic data compilation tools, and should have general knowledge of accreditation.
- Expertise in the field of fisheries or agriculture will be valued.
